We are currently seeking a motivated Petroleum Engineer Intern to join our Dallas office for Summer 2026. This internship offers hands-on experience with reservoir and production engineering projects related to Hunt's operated Bakken assets.
This is a paid summer internship opportunity with housing provided if needed.
Job Description:
The intern will work on multiple reservoir and production engineering projects associated with Hunt's operated Bakken (unconventional) assets.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the subsurface team with calculations and assessments to be used in field development and budget proposals
- Research and evaluate producing properties, proven reserves, and upside potential of active regions
- Prepare property recommendations for future well work and drilling opportunities including economic and technical analysis
- Interface with a multidisciplinary team
- Present results to management
Required Degree Background:
- Rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in petroleum engineering
- Minimum of 3.0 grade point average required
Skills and Knowledge:
- Previous internship experience preferred
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with both technical staff and field personnel
- Involvement in extracurricular activities is a plus
Abilities/Behaviors:
- Self-motivated, proactive, and safety-conscious
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Capable managing multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Excellent work ethic
- Willingness to provide academic transcripts upon request
