What are the responsibilities and job description for the HSRC Process Control Technician 1 position at Hunt Consolidated?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Insure that the control system is operating properly.
- Develop configuration and programming for the control systems.
- Create, troubleshoot, modify and tune control loops as required.
- Troubleshoot loops and DCS / SIS hardware as required.
- Purchase new instrumentation and DCS / SIS equipment as required.
- Work with the process engineers to develop and implement control strategies for the refinery.
- Maintain the site historian: currently AVEVA.
- Add points to and maintain the historian for process data.
- Maintain process control LAN and the BARCO network.
- Work with IT staff to allow or restrict network traffic between business and control system networks.
- Document and maintain existing and future DCS / SIS infrastructure: Fiber, copper, loops, all drawings.
- Perform control systems responsibilities on all refinery MOCs.
- Maintain the alarm system within the DCS / SIS.
- Maintain an alarm action journal for critical alarms.
- Communicate with applicable personnel as necessary for safe and efficient operations, maintenance, and construction activities.
- Keep abreast of current technology and equipment and recommend new training tools and equipment as necessary.
- Be aware of the safety implications of all control system modifications and minimize the safety risks associated with control systems through good programming and configuration techniques.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in engineering or computer science and three to five years' experience in process controls in a refining, chemical or related industry. Experience with a Delta V DCS system and Delta V SIS is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver's license required.
