Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle guest inquiries with professionalism. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals eager to develop their guest relations skills. The Host will play a vital role in creating a memorable experience for every guest and supporting smooth restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage wait times efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host station and waiting area
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely seating and service flow
- Handle guest concerns or special requests courteously, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Assist in managing guest flow during busy periods to optimize seating efficiency
- Support other front-of-house duties as needed to enhance guest experience
Experience
- Previous host/host experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred
- Food service knowledge including familiarity with restaurant POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette
- Experience in hotel or guest services is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and friendliness
