Hundred Nights, Inc. is dedicated to providing shelter and crisis-related services to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Founded in 2010 as a seasonal shelter for the "coldest 100 nights," we now operate year-round from our location at 122 Water Street, Keene, NH. At our Open Doors Resource Center, we offer warm meals, case management services, laundry facilities, showers, clean clothing, and personal care items to community members in need.


The mission of Hundred Nights, Inc. is to provide year-round, low-barrier emergency shelter and crisis-related services to individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness in southwestern New Hampshire. Our goal is to collaborate with the community to see, hear and support those among us who are equally deserving of dignity but who currently lack the means to live independently. Our vision is a community whose members, regardless of means, are equally valued and supported.


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located at our facility in Keene, NH. The Resource Center Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Open Doors Resource Center, ensuring the safety and well-being of all visitors. Key responsibilities include facilitating access to essential services, coordinating resource distribution, maintaining a welcoming environment, overseeing volunteers, and supporting individuals as they work with the Case Manager. This individual will also assist guests with applications for housing IDs and other benefits as time permits, and guide guests towards volunteer opportunities within the shelter. 


Qualifications

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills and the ability to build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent Communication skills, including verbal and written communication
  • Experience in Resource Management and ensuring efficient use of supplies and facilities
  • Proficiency in Customer Service and providing a welcoming and supportive environment for visitors
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness or at-risk populations is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in social services, nonprofit management, or a related field is a plus


Primary Responsibilities:

Assist guests with Resource Center needs:

  • Ensure access to guests for bathroom, shower, laundry, and donation center (clothing and personal care items)
  •  Support guests with applications for housing, jobs, identification documents and other benefits as time permits.
  • Work with the Case Manager to schedule meetings with guests for additional support
  • Work with Kitchen Staff or Shelter Floater to cover Resource Center and Kitchen needs as they arise, including supporting Guest Volunteer sign-ups for identified jobs in the Kitchen


Assist with maintaining records for shelter reporting:

  • Ensure proper logging of facility use of the bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities
  • Log guests who receive items from donation center
  • Notate issues from guests or maintenance concerns
  • Maintain daily Resource Center log for reporting and communication purposes
  • Support data entry into Mission Tracker and HMIS for grant reporting purposes


Maintain clean and safe environment inside and outside facility:

  • Disinfect high-trafficked surfaces in common areas
  • Provide guidance for guest cleaning of the RC and RC bathrooms, including sweeping & mopping, providing access to cleaning supplies as needed
  • Communicate with Shelter and Resource Center staff and volunteers about schedules, inventory needs, problems that guests might be experiencing, etc.
  • Regularly report to the Shelter Manager and other staff regarding all shelter and resource center activities


Starting Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour, Full-time, Non-Exempt
