Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Master Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems and experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery. This position requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The Master Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring all company vehicles and equipment operate safely and efficiently. This position requires a willingness to travel between Las Cruces, Deming, and Silver City as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, diesel, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Perform heavy-duty diesel repairs.
- Repair and maintain heavy machinery and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they become major issues.
- Replace or repair defective parts, components, and systems as needed.
- Perform welding and fabrication work.
- Use computers and technology to diagnose issues and maintain service records.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
- Work with team members to complete repairs and projects promptly.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Assist in other divisions of the company as needed.
- Travel between Las Cruces, Deming, and Silver City as required.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience with heavy-duty diesel repair.
- Experience repairing heavy machinery and hydraulic systems.
- Welding experience.
- Valid CDL preferred.
- Comfortable using computers and diagnostic technology.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
