HUMORIST MEDIA INTERN
ABOUT:
Humorist Media develops comedic content for Weekly Humorist Magazine publishing, Humorist Podcasts, Humorist Books, Humorist Studios, National Lampoon: The Yellow Door comedy clubs as well as, merchandise, streaming content, branded entertainment & multi-platform media. We find and cultivate talent and ideas from concept to execution.
Tasks will include learning and gaining experience in:
- Podcast Production: Two podcasts: Talkward and The Cartoon Pad
- TV/Streaming Content Development: Sit in on comedy development meetings and script reading. Give feedback, write coverage, work on pitch decks. We have a full slate of projects.
- Book publishing & marketing: Read manuscripts, give feedback. Planning and launch of humor book titles. We publish 7-10 titles a year.
- Advertising & Sales: Working on monetization, magazine/web advertising and partnership marketing
- Graphic Design: Canva/Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign and creative design/ branding
- Live Events: Producing stand up comedy shows, and book events.
- Mobile Apps: Create weekly digital issue of magazine for app.
- Email Marketing: E-blast of daily & weekly newsletters to subscribers
- Twitter User Engagement: Wednesday hashtag joke games
- Editorial: Filter submission emails for articles and cartoons
- Social Media : Marketing for all new content and engaging with readers and content creators. Brand promotion for Weekly Humorist and National Lampoon live comedy events.
- Advertising: Targeting new advertising sales
- Production: live comedy event filming & editing, as well as pilots and short-form humor content.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Comedy fan.
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be at least a little funny.
