A Server acts as the primary point of contact for guests in the dining room while collaborating closely with the dining room team and kitchen to ensure guest needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the restaurant's style of service, food offerings, and beverage program to provide thoughtful, seamless, and hospitality-driven service throughout the guest experience.
Reports To: General Manager
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver elevated and attentive service throughout all stages of the guest experience
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and professionally
- Uphold cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards in all dining areas
- Retain detailed knowledge of menu items, ingredients and allergens
- Maintain strong awareness of table pacing while coordinating seamlessly with the kitchen and support teams to ensure precise and timely service execution.
- Ensure tables are properly maintained, cleared, and reset according to restaurant standards
- Handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently while maintaining composure under pressure
- Present menus confidently and provide informed food, wine, cocktail, and spirit recommendations
- Correctly take and enter guest orders into the POS system
- Accurately process cash, credit card, and digital payment transactions in accordance with company procedures
- Maintain accountability for all guest checks, cash banks, and payment reconciliations throughout each shift
- Follow all health, sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol service standards
Service & Guest Experience
- Ensure all guest-facing areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health regulations
- Approach guest interactions with warmth, confidence, and approachability
- Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all food, wine, cocktail, beer, and spirits menus
- Educate guests and staff in a clear, engaging, and non-intimidating manner
- Create a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable dining experience
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on delivering exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences
- Demonstrate teamwork and support fellow staff during service
- Uphold all service standards, reservation notes, and allergy protocols
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience serving in an upscale, fine dining, or high-volume restaurant preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Extensive knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and hospitality standards
- Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and polished demeanor required
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction
- Experience with POS systems
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8 hours), and to crouch, bend, and lift or move
- 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in English
Salary: $11.35 per hour with tip credit
