The Liquid Plant Operator plays a critical role in the processing of liquid materials while ensuring quality standards are met for finished product. This team member is a skilled partner, with experience in plant or industrial operations, has mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient production environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently follow the prescribed Methods of Manufacturing (MoMs) for the liquid plant.
- Perform correct addition of powder raw materials into bulk batches of liquid fertilizer, transfer of slurries and liquid raw materials from one mixing tank to another, transfer of liquid raw materials from totes to mixing tanks, correctly assembling powder raw materials and other activities as directed.
- Clean empty bulk product totes as required.
- Complete routine, simple equipment maintenance activities as directed.
- Complete daily housekeeping activities as required and directed to keep the liquid plant area and liquid plant equipment clean and safe.
- Safely operate a forklift to move pallets of finished product, totes of bulk product, pallets of empty boxes and any other items that require a forklift for movement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safe access to equipment and materials.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow in the plant.
- Perform additional site or support tasks as assigned by supervision
Required Skills/ Abilities
- Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of plant systems.
- Familiarity with process controls, instrumentation, or automated systems a plus.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, safety instructions, and equipment manuals.
- Must be able to pass or qualify toward any applicable plant or equipment operator certifications.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of experience in industrial, plant, or material processing operations preferred.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Must be able to work outdoors and indoors in variable temperatures and conditions.
