Job Title: Histology Technical Specialist
Location: Foster City, CA
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Histology Technical Specialist to support high-quality tissue processing and sample management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, quality control skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, staining, and high-resolution scanning to ensure consistent, high-quality specimen preparation and accurate digital imaging.
- Manage histology requests from intake through completion with clear communication and excellent customer service.
- Oversee sample logistics for both clinical and non-clinical specimens, ensuring adherence to established protocols and compliance standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures, including equipment maintenance, process validation, data accuracy checks, and timely issue resolution.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Histotechnology, Biology, Pathology, or a related life science field.
- Certification as a Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in histology or a related laboratory setting.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and familiarity with laboratory quality standards.
Schedule: Full-time, on-site role
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00 - $52.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
