The Role:
- You will assist in general maintenance and repairs of camp facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- You will perform routine inspections to ensure safety and functionality of camp buildings and grounds.
- You will support seasonal preparation of camp facilities (e.g., winterization, summer readiness).
- You will maintain and repair camp equipment and tools as directed.
- You will respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility-related concerns.
- You will ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas, storage spaces, and maintenance equipment.
- You will follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a secure environment for campers and staff.
- You will work collaboratively with other team members and departments to support camp operations.
- You will demonstrate a Christ-centered attitude and actively contribute to the spiritual environment of the camp.
Ideal Candidate:
- Evidenced commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel with others.
- You must agree with Hume Lake's Statement of Belief and be willing to abide by Hume Lake's Code of Conduct.
- No formal experience required, but prior maintenance, construction, or handyman experience is a plus.
- You must have basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety procedures.
- You must be able to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- You must have strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new skills.
- You must have a positive attitude, teamwork-oriented, and a servant-hearted mindset.

- You must be able to live in available Hume Lake housing or provide private accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HVAC, electrical work, or plumbing.
- Familiarity with camp or retreat center environments.
Physical Requirements:
- You must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- You must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- You must be able to live and work in extreme weather conditions and at a high altitude.
