Requirements/Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and courteously
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for cash, credit, and debit transactions
- Handle cash responsibly, including making change and balancing the cash drawer
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, restrooms, and work areas
- Monitor inventory levels and report low or out-of-stock items
- Follow all store policies, safety procedures, and loss-prevention guidelines
- Verify age requirements for tobacco, alcohol, or lottery sales (where applicable)
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior cashier or customer service experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks
