Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray technology while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of medical imaging techniques and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, such as an urgent care or emergency room setting.
Duties
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients, ensuring high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Operate and maintain X-ray equipment, adhering to safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Ensure proper positioning of patients to obtain accurate images while minimizing exposure to radiation.
- Document patient information, imaging procedures, and results in compliance with medical terminology standards.
- Assist in other imaging modalities as needed, including CT scans, PET scans, mammography, DEXA scans, and sonography.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the imaging area to uphold safety standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist from an accredited program.
- Experience in nuclear medicine, emergency medicine, or urgent care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic radiology.
- Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques such as CT, PET scans, mammography, and DEXA scans is a plus.
- Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $34.76 - $60.00 per hour
