What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard (Per Diem/Registry) - Wellness Center position at Humboldt Park Health?
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for ensuring the safety of members and guests in the pools and immediate surrounding areas.
Primary Duties:
- Maintain safety in and around the pools.
- Provide supervision and perform life saving measures when necessary.
- Be aware of and participate in the servicing of the pool and maintenance of emergency equipment.
- Ability to be flexible and accommodating to meet Wellness Center hours and member needs.
- Must meet and maintain all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
- Complete knowledge of all Wellness Center safety protocols and confidence communicating via radio/overhead and with EMS as needed.
- Represent Humboldt Park Health in a positive and professional manner.
Position Requirements:
- Current Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization is required.
- Previous experience as a lifeguard preferred.
- Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.
- Be dependable, alert, and able to interact with members and guests of all ages in a positive manner.
- Maintain composure and act appropriately in moments when multiple unexpected challenges arise concurrently.
- Possess a passion for fitness, health, athletics, and wellness. Enthusiastic, professional, and genuine demeanor.
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
