POSITION SUMMARY
The Materials Specialist is responsible for full-cycle inventory and supply chain activities including receiving shipments, matching purchase orders, packing slips and invoices to send to AP. Maintaining accurate inventory levels, replenishing PAR areas, performing cycle counts, managing stock rotation and outdates, fulfilling requisitions, and keeping all storage areas clean and organized.

Receiving & Documentation:
Receive and inspect materials.
Maintain receiving logs
Verify packing slips, POs, and invoices—turns into AP
Reports discrepancies and coordinate returns
Maintain accurate filing systems
Monitors back orders and keeps the Materials Management Director informed.

Inventory Management:
Perform cycle counts- Update PAR levels and inventory adjustments
Run replenishment reports Monday-Friday
Fill departmental requisitions, deliver supplies throughout the facility
Rotate stock and prepare storage areas
Process monthly outdates for the hospital
Conduct spot checks in supply areas as needed

Cleanliness & Organization
Clean bins when returned from departments
Delivery Carts washed weekly or as needed
Keep storage shed clean and organized
Maintains outside receiving area

Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties
Helps to complete tasks in the materials function that are not within his/her job description. Renders self-available, when responsibilities have been met, to assist in other areas

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Inventory, warehouse, or materials handling experience; knowledge of POs and invoices; healthcare experience preferred
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: N/A
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Forklift (training provided)
