- Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to de-escalate situations and ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to motivate clients toward positive behavioral changes and sustained engagement with services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, healthcare providers, and community organizations to facilitate comprehensive care.
- Supervise or mentor junior staff or interns when applicable, fostering a supportive environment for professional growth.
- Maintain detailed documentation of case interactions, service plans, progress notes, and compliance with confidentiality standards such as Medicare regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in social work, behavioral health, or related fields with a focus on crisis intervention and addiction counseling.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crises effectively through crisis management skills and behavioral health expertise.
- Prior supervising experience or mentoring roles that showcase leadership capabilities within social service settings.
- Familiarity with programs such as Child Welfare services, Section 8 housing assistance, Medicare policies, and workforce development initiatives.
- Strong background in social work principles combined with hands-on experience in child care or mentoring roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of community resources related to mental health support, addiction recovery, child welfare systems, and healthcare programs enhances effectiveness in this role.
