What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Teacher position at Humble Beginnings Childcare?
Job Summary
Humble Beginnings is a full-service, home-based childcare program accepting children between 6 weeks and 12 years old. We provide full-day service with before and after-school care for our school-age children. We will use every moment as a teaching moment while providing safe and supportive surroundings for our little ones. I am looking for a highly motivated individual who desires to contribute to our goal of positively impacting our children's lives.
The duties include but are not limited to the list of tasks below.
▪ The Assistant supports the Provider in designing, planning, and implementing the daily schedule of activities, preparing the learning environment with suitable teaching materials, and balancing teaching between logical and social exercises.
▪ Develop a caring, supportive, positive relationship with children; teach and support the learning of essential life skills and other foundational activities (washing hands, praying, brushing teeth, eating meals, etc.); prepare meals for distribution, cots for nap time.
▪ Assist with evaluating children’s performance to ensure they are on the right learning track, observe children’s interactions, ensure all child data is tracked in our system, and promote the spirit of harmony.
▪ Always maintain a clean and disinfected environment for the children, and ensure all toys, shelves, and materials are cleaned before the start of the day and at the end of the day.
The right candidate must understand that continuous supervision of the children in our care is paramount. We teach through play and incorporate various teaching methods that encourage independence, scaffolding practices, and teacher-led activities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
