What are the responsibilities and job description for the Imaging Tech III - iScan (Glen Burnie, MD) position at HUMANIM INC?
The Imaging Technician III performs all of the critical functions involved in document conversion, but most likely with a focus on data entry/indexing or independent scanning. Duties will be clearly laid out. Duties will involve a combination of repetitive and non-repetitive ones. Judgment will often be required to determine the best course of action. This position requires switching between different tasks on a frequent basis, and learning new processes frequently. This position requires travelling to the iScan contract site in Glen Burnie, MD 21062. The incumbent is expected to develop a good working knowledge of more than one electronic imaging system or filming process.

- Scanning Proficiency Prior experience on a scanner or other media conversion equipment of 1 year (must be verified through a reference and/ or Keystroke Proficiency (10,000 keystrokes per hour) required.
- Ability to work independently within multiple environments on the same or different contract sites.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs;
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including warehouses with variable temperatures.
- Ability to engage in a variety of postures to include bending, lifting, standing, sitting.
- Ability to relate well to staff and board members of different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, and religions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilizing knowledge of production workflow and imaging software and hardware, set up and/ or troubleshoot new and existing I-Scan contracts
- Use discretion and judgment in problem solving and developing contract workflows in addition to ensuring that minimum contract standards are met..
- Indexing – Includes keying in data for the purposes of naming electronic or photographic files, or, of tagging critical data to electronic or photographic files. This will often be the primary duty of the job.
- Quality Assurance – Includes checking completed work for image quality and index accuracy.
- Scanning and/or filming – Includes all routine facets of operating a document scanner or microfilmer, such as turning it on and off, feeding the documents, monitoring image quality and adjusting the image capture settings when necessary, and performing regular preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning lenses.
- Document Logging – Includes creating a written list of documents being worked, and may involve tracking time involved for each step or other production data.
- Advanced Document Preparation - Includes removing staples and paper clips from paper documents in preparation for scanning. Also may include relocating post-its to blank pages, taping torn pages, and/or unfolding pages.
- Basic Document Preparation – Includes or may include inserting unique document barcodes or targets into each file, purging documents, or gleaning written information from documents for later use.
- Safety – Assists with ensuring the safety of job sites, reports any identified potential safety issues to the Team Leader.
- Material Handling – Involves moving materials such as boxes of paper. May involve packing, unpacking, loading and unloading boxes. On occasion may require lifting a box or material that could weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Independent Performance – Defined as working with little or no daily supervision on a continual basis.
- Participates in the organization’s continuing learning on issues of racial equity and equity in general.
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or any higher-level management, to include the department Vice President.
