The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fixture design, estimation, and engineering processes with proven expertise in SolidWorks, CAD software, and manufacturing programming. This role involves developing efficient production methods, programming CNC equipment, and ensuring accuracy in design-to-production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for sheet metal fabrication processes (laser cutting, punching, bending, etc.).
- Design and engineer production fixtures, jigs, and tooling to improve accuracy, repeatability, and productivity.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, 3D models, and CAD files using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
- Perform job estimation for new projects including material requirements, labor, and time studies.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with specifications.
- Troubleshoot and refine CNC programs, CAD models, and engineering documentation to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of programs, revisions, and project documentation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing or related engineering field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and 2D/3D CAD software.
- Hands-on experience with fixture design and manufacturing estimation.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for job costing and scheduling.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and process improvement.
- Familiarity with laser cutting, turret punching, and press brake programming.
