Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) – Days Call
Location: Birmingham, AL
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 02/17/26
Shift: Days | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Call: 1–2 times per week
Position Overview:
A leading medical center in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an experienced Travel CVOR Circulator RN to support a high-volume cardiovascular surgical program. The ideal candidate will have strong circulating experience in open heart procedures and the ability to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Unit / Case Mix:
Cardiovascular Operating Room
CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
AVR (Aortic Valve Replacement)
MVR (Mitral Valve Replacement)
Responsibilities:
Circulate for cardiovascular surgical procedures including open heart cases
Maintain sterile field and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical technologists
Prepare operating room, equipment, and supplies
Monitor patients intraoperatively and document care accurately
Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
Requirements:
Active RN license
BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience
Must have hands-on experience circulating CABG, AVR, and MVR cases
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
