As an Evidence & Records Technician, you help bring that mission to life by ensuring every piece of evidence-from Body Worn Camera footage to case documentation-is handled with precision, care, and accountability. Your work directly supports officers, investigators, prosecutors, and courts, helping ensure cases are well-documented, compliant, and positioned for successful outcomes.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll serve as the backbone of our enforcement documentation and evidence management system. Key responsibilities include:
- Evidence & Records Management
- Collect, process, catalog, store, track, and release physical and digital evidence
- Maintain secure, organized enforcement records, including reports, photos, and medical documentation
- Ensure strict chain-of-custody compliance from intake through final disposition
- Digital Evidence & BWC Management
- Review, redact, label, and manage Body Worn Camera (BWC) footage
- Ensure compliance with evidentiary standards, privacy laws, and Colorado public records requirements
- Troubleshoot basic BWC issues and support staff with training and usage
- Case & Court Support
- Prepare and deliver evidence and case materials to courts, prosecutors, and authorized partners
- Assist officers and investigators with case file preparation and documentation review
- Public Records & Compliance
- Process public records requests, including identifying responsive materials and applying lawful redactions
- Maintain databases, logs, and tracking systems for all records and evidence activities
- Conduct audits and inventories to ensure accountability and compliance
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with law enforcement partners, courts, veterinarians, and internal teams
- Communicate professionally and maintain strict confidentiality at all times
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and efficiency
What You Bring
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity
- Ability to manage large volumes of digital files and sensitive information
- Knowledge of or experience with digital evidence systems, law enforcement technology, or video management (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment and professionalism in handling confidential information
- A valid Colorado driver's license with an insurable record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in animal care and control, law enforcement, or a related field
- OR an associate degree or higher in a relevant field in place of experience
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time, five 8-hour shifts per week
- May include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel to courts, ALE offices, or training sites
- Regular interaction with animals and potential exposure to allergens and environmental elements
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the workday
- Lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Perform tasks that may involve bending, reaching, or handling equipment

Also, as a condition of employment with HSPPR, you will be required to authorize HSPPR and ProScreening to conduct a background check before confirming an employment start date.
