Job Summary
This part-time position is ideal for a dependable, compassionate person interested in veterinary medicine, animal welfare, or surgical support. The assistant will be part of our high-volume spay/neuter clinic team. They will work closely with our veterinarian and surgical technicians to help provide quality care for shelter animals and community pets.
Schedule:
- Part-time, 2–3 days per week
- Daytime hours
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation and recovery of surgical patients
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Prepare surgery packs and treatment areas
- Monitor animals before and after surgery
- Assist with animal handling and restraint
- Maintain cleanliness of the clinic and surgical suite
- Stock supplies and assist with general clinic duties
- Support the veterinarian and surgical technician as needed
Qualifications:
- Experience working with animals preferred
- Veterinary clinic, shelter, or kennel experience is a plus
- Ability to safely handle dogs and cats of all sizes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
