Overview
As an Animal Care Attendant, you will be essential in providing compassionate care and support for the animals in a shelter environment.
Kennel/Animal Duties:
- Cleaning of all kennels/spaces/rooms/outdoor livestock areas. Cleaning includes but is not limited to: Mopping, scooping, spraying, trash to dumpster, sweeping, scrubbing, laundry and dishes
- Familiarize yourself with new intakes
- Restock all sections and keep cabinets/shelves organized
- Participate in playgroups and enrichment activities
- Grooming as needed
Customer Service:
- Direct visitors
- Answer questions
- Observe visitation from potential adoptees
- Have knowledge of adoptable animals
- Understand adoption process
Other:
- Professionalism in attitude, action and appearance at all times when representing HSWC
- Willingness to work as part of a team and accept training from administrative staff, trainers, and supervisors
- Work closely with ALL staff and volunteers
Part-time position averaging 24-32 hours per week.
