What We’re Looking For

· Have veterinary medical experience, including supporting a veterinarian in clinical surgery and post-operative care · Have experience with intubation, monitoring vitals, administering IVs, wound care, dentals, emergency triage, euthanasia, and O.R. preparation · RVT certification is a plus, but not required · Can safely handle dogs and cats who may be fearful, reactive, anxious, or fractious · Have experience identifying and supporting treatment plans for common medical conditions in dogs and cats · Are proficient in medical calculations, including drugs, constant rate infusions, and unit conversions · Are highly organized with strong attention to detail · Communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately · Are comfortable with computers, email, Microsoft Office, PetPoint, Excel, or similar database systems · Can multitask, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision · Are comfortable navigating difficult, stressful, and fast-moving situations · Can pivot quickly when unexpected medical or shelter needs arise · Are available to work some nights, weekends, holidays, and after-hours emergency rotations · Thrive in an environment with animal sounds, smells, allergens, and constant movement · Believe in a positive, whatever-it-takes culture · Support and embrace a no-kill philosophy
