What are the responsibilities and job description for the TEMPORARY PARKING LOT ATTENDANT position at Humane Society Brand?
Summary: This a temporary position and will oversee the safety and security of our clients in the designated parking lot in front of the AHC and across the street from our facility . This temporary role requires excellent observation and customer service skills. The ability to handle any incidents with professionalism and discretion. This position will be working both inside and outside of our Animal Health Center. However, the position will be mostly outside.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the assigned parking lot to ensure the safety of vehicles and individuals
- Assist clients in safely transporting their animals to and from the building( holding leashes and carriers), from the parking lot that is located across the street from the hospital.
- Conduct regular patrols to identify and report any potential security risks or hazards.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any security-related incidents or emergencies to the Director of the AHC
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security or a related field is preferred.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- This position requires standing, walking, and remaining actively on the move for up to 8 hours.
- Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain.
- Willingness to work around a diverse range of animals, including large and small dogs and cats.
Work Details
- Contract Type: Independent Contractor (Temporary). This position is expected to run through September 2026, depending on the progress of our hospital’s construction.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (subject to change based on business and construction needs; may not always be a 40-hour workweek).
- Compensation: $18.00 per hour (this is a temporary position and does not include employment benefits). Possibility of transitioning into a permanent position in another department after this temporary position has ended.
