As a Documentation Specialist, you’ll be a key technical contributor helping scale and optimize our high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing operation.
Position Summary
JTEKT is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Documentation Specialist to support our Engineering team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technical documentation, data, and cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
In this position, you will help create, maintain, and organize engineering and quality documentation, support new product launch activities, and assist with purchasing and reporting processes. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering support, quality systems, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain quality documentation including PFMEA, MQC, ECCS, FSCS, control plans, and related documents under engineering direction
Develop and maintain Technical Instruction Sheets (TIS)
Support new product launch activities (including spare parts registration)
Maintain and update process sheets, routing for revisions as needed
Track and maintain ECR/PCR documentation status
Create and maintain management status reports (MOC updates, process deviation tracking, etc.)
Submit and track purchase requisitions within the ERP system
Research purchase order status and generate capital project status reports
Contact vendors to obtain pricing and quotations
Maintain organization and 5S standards within the engineering document room and assigned areas
Provide general administrative and reporting support to the engineering team
Travel occasionally as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in documentation and reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a technical or related field
OR
High School Diploma/GED with relevant manufacturing or engineering support experience
Familiarity with AIAG core quality tools (PFMEA, control plans, etc.)
Experience using ERP systems
Basic knowledge of quality, safety, and environmental management systems
Exposure to SolidWorks is a plus
