Human Support Services, a non-profit community mental health agency located in Monroe County seeks full-time Direct Support Workers.
We are pleased to announce our new increased starting wage $17.75-$22.05 an hour.

We are looking for dependable, caring support workers to teach daily living skill to adults with intellectual disabilities in their homes and communities to:
- Empower and support individuals to live self-directed lives
- Support and Advocate for people with intellectual disabilities
- Teach independent living skills including but not limited to, cooking, cleaning, hygiene and emergency readiness
- Promote Health and Wellness, including passing medication
- Support in building and maintaining healthy friendships and relationships
- Teach coping skills and provide support to individuals in crisis
- Helping individuals gain access to community resources and participation in community events
- Maintain accurate, concise, current clinical documentation as required by state and federal guidelines

Requirements
-Must have a high school diploma or GED
-Must have valid driver’s license
- Have adequate transportation to be able to move from site to site
- Ability to drive a regular size and larger size van or willing to be trained
- Drive in large cities
- Able to lift and walk flights of stairs
- Constitution to handle body excrements
- Must be emotionally stable enough to react appropriately to a consumer in crisis
- Float between different sites to maintain adequate coverage for client needs
- Able to fluctuate hours during the week, but maintain a 40 hours work week
