About Us: Human Friendly Robotics is developing Tyler, an autonomous tiling robot that delivers 3-5x productivity gains for commercial construction. Currently transitioning from working prototype to commercial pilots.
The Role: First sales hire to build our pipeline from zero in the NJ/NYC construction market. You'll own the entire sales process from cold outreach through pilot deployment. This is a hunter role with aggressive commission potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate 20-30 qualified product demonstrations per quarter
- Close 3-8 pilot agreements per quarter ($200/day pricing)
- Build sales collateral from scratch (ROI calculators, case studies, presentations)
- Maintain pipeline in Notion CRM
- Represent company at trade shows (quarterly, including international)
- Provide market feedback to shape product development
- Travel: 50% local quarterly conferences
Target Market:
- Flooring/tile contractors ($1M-$20M revenue)
- Regional general contractors ($5M-$50M revenue)
- Commercial construction projects
- Territory: New Jersey and New York City metro
Requirements:
- 3 years B2B sales to construction companies
- Proven new business development track record
- Existing contractor relationships in NJ/NYC
- Comfortable with high-volume outreach (100 touches/week)
- Valid driver's license and vehicle
- Passport for conference travel
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $45,000-$55,000
- Commission: $500-1,000 per demo 25-50% of pilot revenue (sliding scale quarterly)
- Target Total Comp: $100,000-$130,000
- Other: Mileage reimbursement, conference travel covered
- Benefits: Currently cash compensation only; health benefits planned for 2026
Performance Expectations:
- Q4 2025: 10-15 demos (ramp period)
- Q1 2026: 20-25 demos, 3-5 pilots
- Q2 2026 : 25-30 demos, 5-8 pilots quarterly
Commission Structure (resets quarterly):
- Demos: $500-1,000 each
- Pilot commission tiers:
- 1-2 pilots: 25%
- 3-4 pilots: 35%
- 5 pilots: 50%
Work Environment:
- Hybrid: 1 day/week in Marlboro office
- 50% local customer visits
- Direct access to founding team
