JUNIOR DATA SCIENTIST
We’re hiring! We are looking for a junior Data Scientist to join our growing team based in Amsterdam.
Human Data Associates is a specialised start-up with extensive in-house expertise. As a Data Scientist at HDA, your key responsibility is to use machine learning techniques to automate advanced marketing insights.
Responsibilities
In this role you will work closely with an experienced team to help you learn and develop new skills such as:
We are a one-stop shop in online marketing intelligence leveraging big data analytics. HDA offers consultancy services and technical implementations around three pillars: online measurement, data integration and online marketing intelligence. Our head office is based in Amsterdam, our front-end developers in Wroclaw, Poland.
Our key focus is enabling our customers to gain more profit per customer. We achieve this by implementing enterprise class online measurement, setting up data warehouse solutions that enable the 360 customer view by integrating all relevant data sources, maximising the performance of marketing programs utilising predictive analytics and machine learning. Advanced statistical models are used to optimise advertising spend on the acquisition of new customers, identify and execute cross- and upselling opportunities in the existing customer base and identify which customers to prevent from churning.

Human Data Associates is a specialised start-up with extensive in-house expertise. As a Data Scientist at HDA, your key responsibility is to use machine learning techniques to automate advanced marketing insights.
Responsibilities
In this role you will work closely with an experienced team to help you learn and develop new skills such as:
- Interrogate large and complex behavioural data sets that do not fit into the memory of a single machine
- Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
- Develop statistical models for advanced marketing insights and bring them in production
- Assist with the design and hands-on rollout of prototype systems for implementation
- Expand choice of analytical techniques used
- Develop data acquisition tooling in Java, scripts etc
- A relevant Master or PhD in subjects ranging from computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, astrophysics, to cognitive neuroscience
- 0-3 years professional experience
- Strong skills in statistics, probability, and/or machine learning
- Fluency in languages such as R, Python, C and/or Java
- Experience with relational databases / SQL
- Experience using EMR, Spark, Flink, H2O, TensorFlow and/or other non-relational DBs or ML platforms
- Good skills in data visualization (big plus)

- An eye for detail, creative and ability to take end-to-end responsibility
- Self-learning attitude and motivated by exploring new technologies
- Great communication skills
- An innate curiosity and bias to action
- The ability to identify what’s important, and what’s not; simple is sometimes best
