What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) position at Human Body Works?
About us
Human Body Works is a clinical sports and injury recovery massage practice in Lacey. Our clients are community members who hustle: athletes, active people, folks who work hard at what they do, and anyone working their way back from an injury. Physicians, chiropractors, and other providers trust us with their patients, and we take that seriously.
We don't do one-size-fits-all massage. Every session starts with listening and assessment, and every treatment is built for the person on the table. We're growing, and we're looking for two therapists to grow with us.
Who you are
- Professional and dependable. You show up on time, prepared, and ready to work. Clients and teammates can count on you.
- Genuinely invested in your clients. You want the best outcome for every person on your table, and it shows.
- Clinically minded. You understand injury treatment, you're drawn to sports massage, and you can explain your reasoning to a client or a referring provider.
- Equally skilled at a great wellness massage. Sometimes the right treatment is helping someone's nervous system come down a notch, and you do that well too.
- A lifelong learner. You want to know why a body is doing what it's doing, and you keep getting better at your craft.
- A collaborative teammate. We share cases, trade ideas, and pitch in. In a small clinic, nothing is "not my job."
- Someone who genuinely connects with people. Clients come back because they feel heard, not just treated.
What you'll do
- Assess each client's health history, symptoms, and goals
- Build individualized treatment plans and adjust them as clients progress
- Deliver a range of techniques, including sports, deep tissue, injury treatment, and Swedish/wellness massage
- Keep accurate SOAP notes in line with professional and legal standards
- Educate clients on self-care, stretching, and ways to stay on track between sessions
- Collaborate with physicians, chiropractors, and physical therapists when appropriate
- Help keep the clinic clean, organized, and welcoming
