Housekeeper/ House Manager - Part Time - La Grange, KY

A warm, established family based in the La Grange, KY area (Oldham County, just outside Louisville) is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Household Manager / Family Assistant. Both parents work at their clinic on Mondays and Tuesdays, and this role exists to keep the household running smoothly on those two days so the family can enjoy their evenings and the rest of the week privately.

This is a full-day, two-day-a-week role for someone who wants to build a long-term, trusted relationship with one family and take real ownership of a home.

SCHEDULE

• Mondays and Tuesdays, approximately 7:45 AM to 6:30 PM Optional school drop-off around 7:45 AM Required school pickup at approximately 3:30 PM Dinner ready by approximately 6:30 PM, home reset for the evening Wednesday through weekend availability is not required; occasional pre-planned support (date nights, holidays, family gatherings, travel prep) may be requested and scheduled in advance

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Household Cleaning & Organization

• Daily cleaning and household resets, plus regular deeper cleaning as needed Maintain kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and shared living spaces Coordinate with the family's existing weekly housekeeping support Help combine and organize belongings from a recent move; build practical storage systems Follow through on projects until fully complete

Laundry & Linens

• Full-cycle laundry: wash, dry, fold, iron, and put away Rotate and launder bedding, towels, and household linens Keep linen storage organized and stocked

Meals & Kitchen

• Plan and prepare primarily low-carbohydrate lunches and dinners, ready by approximately 6:30 PM Manage the kitchen end to end: meal planning, grocery lists, prep, serving, cleanup, and pantry organization Proactively monitor and reorder food and household supplies

Children & Family Support

• Warm, calm after-school support for two school-aged children School pickup at approximately 3:30 PM on Mondays and Tuesdays; drop-off support when needed Support daily routines, age-appropriate responsibilities, outdoor time, and limited screen time Occasional pre-planned evening childcare for date nights

Pet Care

• Help manage feeding and daily care for the family's dogs, cats, goats, chickens, and fish Coordinate grooming, vet appointments, and medications as needed Monitor and reorder pet supplies

Household Administration

• Manage household calendars and recurring responsibilities Coordinate vendors, repairs, appointments, and seasonal services Oversee household projects through to completion and proactively close the loop Assist with planning for travel, holidays, and hosting Complete errands, returns, and vehicle upkeep (fueling, washes, inspections, scheduling maintenance)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous experience as a Household Manager, Family Assistant, House Manager, or Nanny/Family Assistant in a private household Comfort managing cleaning, laundry, meals, children's routines, and household projects together Strong cooking and meal-planning skills Experience with school-aged children Comfortable around a variety of animals Highly reliable, organized, and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take ownership Warm and professional, with a calm, patient presence around children Open to feedback and interested in household management as a long-term profession, not a temporary position Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation Able to pass a comprehensive background check and provide strong professional references

THE HOME

A four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home of approximately 4,200 square feet. The family already has a babysitter, weekly housekeeping, lawn and landscaping services, and seasonal pest control in place; this role works alongside those providers while owning the home's daily operations, organization, and overall readiness.
