Position Summary
The Private Credit Lending Associate Analyst will involve working within all aspects of our private credit business, including deal origination, structuring, execution, and portfolio management. This role requires a individual who has experience with all aspects of the deal process including due diligence, structuring, underwriting, closing and managing of funded senior debt facilities. The ideal candidate will be someone who has several years of experience within private credit and who can embrace Hum’s proprietary technology and use it to efficiently to assist with sourcing and growing a high quality portfolio. The candidate should also have a strong entrepreneurial spirit to drive growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Oversight and Management:
- Manage a portion of the existing private credit portfolio, ensuring compliance with credit agreements as well as Hum’s credit policy and investment strategy
- Monitor borrower performance, assess financial health, and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies.
- Deal Origination and Structuring:
- Assist with the Identification and cultivation of deal flow through industry relationships, partnerships, and direct borrower engagement.
- Work with senior leaders and corporate counsel in the structuring and negotiation of loan terms to optimize risk-adjusted returns.
Team Culture:
- Follow the Team Culture of Hum Capital by providing support and mentoring younger colleagues as part of a growing team of debt professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture that aligns with the firms values and objectives.
- Risk and Performance Monitoring:
- Adhere to the existing risk management frameworks to track and mitigate portfolio risks.
- Prepare and present detailed performance reports to senior management and investors.
- Workout and Restructuring:
- Support the team in the resolution of impaired or defaulted positions, including negotiations with borrowers and other stakeholders.
- Embrace and cultivate workout strategies to preserve value and minimize losses.
- Strategic Growth Initiatives:
- Contribute to the strategic vision of the firm by identifying growth opportunities and optimizing investment processes.
- Work closely with senior leadership to support fundraising and investor relations activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or CFA designation preferred.
- 1-5 years of experience in private credit, direct lending, or related fields, with experience managing loan portfolios.
- Demonstrated support in deal origination, structuring, and negotiation.
- Strong team player with the ability to work autonomously when required.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with investors, borrowers, and stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of credit underwriting, financial analysis, and risk management.
