Accounts Payable Specialist (Remote - Based in Asheville, NC)
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for supporting the full cycle accounts payable function in a natural/organic multi-unit grocery retail environment. Using QuickBooks Online for accounting and Ramp for invoice management, this role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant processing of invoices, payments, and related financial transactions. The Specialist maintains vendor relationships, assists with reconciliations, and supports financial accuracy and operational efficiency while contributing to Earth Fare's mission of promoting healthy living through responsible fiscal stewardship.
Essential Job Related Responsibilities and Skills
• Process day-to-day accounts payable transactions, including invoice receipt, coding, data entry, and approvals.
• Execute weekly payment runs and ensure adherence to payment terms.
• Maintain vendor records and assist with onboarding documentation.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal teams.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliations.
• Maintain organized and audit-ready AP documentation.
• Support cash flow tracking and forecasting.
• Assist with sales tax reporting and filing.
• Support property tax, permits, and licenses tracking.
• Maintain insurance and administrative financial documentation.
• Monitor AP aging and flag urgent items.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Support month-end close activities.
• Perform additional administrative and financial tasks as assigned.
Required Education/Experience/Skills/ Attributes

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

2–4 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting; QuickBooks Online experience preferred.

Proficiency in accounting systems, attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
