Antique Automotive Mechanic

Duties

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on antique vehicles, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, and electrical systems
• Perform detailed inspections using automotive schematics and diagnostic tools to identify problems accurately
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and suspension repairs to keep vehicles in prime condition
• Rebuild or restore auto body components, including welding and metalwork, to preserve original aesthetics
• Service brake systems, shocks & struts, powertrain components, and perform wheel alignments for optimal vehicle performance
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during repairs and restorations
• Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as an automotive mechanic with a focus on vintage or antique vehicles
• Strong mechanical knowledge of classic car systems including engines, transmissions, automotive electrical systems, and powertrains
• Skilled in reading schematics and automotive diagnostics to troubleshoot complex issues effectively
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment used in automotive repair and restoration
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
