Duties
- Safely operate side dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and flatbed vehicles equipped for freight delivery.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring secure and balanced cargo.
- Drive on designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure punctual deliveries.
- Manage various types of freight, including refrigerated trailers, tankers, and general cargo, with attention to proper handling procedures.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and route adjustments.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle inspection records in compliance with company policies.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks.
- Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and vehicle maintenance routines.
- Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual methods while following safety protocols.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation tools to optimize delivery schedules.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and adherence to transportation regulations.
- Experience with refrigerated trailers or specialized freight handling is a plus.
