Job Summary
Will direct, develop, and manage warehouse & receiving activities for incoming raw materials and direct the work assignments of the receiving clerks within the scope of company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Essential Functions
- Will champion and participate in all company safety and continuous improvement programs.
- Direct daily activities of the inventory clerks and shipping clerks. Such activities include insuring that all inbound receipts are processed correctly, that all outbound orders have been printed along with labels, managing the driver check-in process, and ensuring that appropriate cycle counts are done on a consistent basis.
- Schedule inbound and outbound appointments.
- Organize and manage the monthly inventory cycle counting and annual physical inventory.
- Manage the mock recall and recall processes.
- Provide management with daily and monthly data related to shipping/receiving, containers, extra labor, shortages, and carrier performance.
- Interface with transportation 3PL to communicate late and missed appointments to ensure pickups are done in a timely manner.
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively, possess good inter-personal skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise others.
- Ability to read learns, understand, and consistently apply all policies, procedures including safety.
- Ability and willingness to take initiative to ensure shipping/warehouse/receiving departments run efficiently...
- Possess a basic understanding of word processing and spreadsheet applications, preferably Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Requires 5 years’ experience in Shipping/Receiving and 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- A comparable level of education and/or experience is acceptable.
