- The Meat Director at Hugo's Family Marketplace is responsible for overseeing all company meat departments to ensure operational excellence and drive sales growth. This role involves managing purchasing, inventory, merchandising, and pricing strategies, while also ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. The Meat Director will play a critical role in creating and implementing weekly ads and promotions, maintaining cutting and presentation guidelines, and collaborating with sales representatives to introduce new items and secure advantageous deals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all meat departments within the company to ensure efficient operations and high standards.
- Manage purchasing, inventory, merchandising, and pricing to optimize sales and profitability.
- Develop and implement weekly ads and promotional strategies to attract customers and increase sales.
- Enforce strict food safety and quality standards across all meat departments.
- Maintain cutting and presentation guidelines to ensure product consistency and appeal.
- Collaborate with sales representatives to negotiate deals and introduce new products.
- Monitor market trends and adjust strategies to remain competitive and meet customer demands.

Required Education:
Required Experience:
- College degree and 5 years experience or equivalent combination
Required Experience:
- Meat cutting experience
- Must have experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
- Good communication skills both verbally and written
- Must be proficient in MS Office programs and comfortable working with technology
Preferred Experience:
- Meat department management experience
- Experience with multi-store oversight
- Experience in cost control and staff training responsibilities
