POSITION GOAL
Schedules diagnostic tests/surgeries in a timely manner, calls for referrals, and ensures that patients have the necessary information and orders prior to scheduled test.

Schedules diagnostic tests/surgeries in a timely manner, calls for referrals, and ensures that patients have the necessary information and orders prior to scheduled test.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule diagnostic tests and surgeries as needed.
- Process outgoing referrals.
- Ensure patients have the necessary test/surgery appointment information to include location, date, and time.
- Schedule follow up appointments.
- Collaborate with the necessary departments when an urgent request arises, to include assisting with pre-certification (when needed)
- Route charts and films for tests and surgeries per the physician’s protocol
- Obtain authorizations for surgeries and in-office procedures.
- Coordinate and schedule incoming referrals per physicians’ appointment protocol.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- One (1) year of experience in medical office setting.
Familiarity with surgical scheduling, insurance authorizations, and EMR systems.
Education:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required:
Special Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) may be required.
- Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
- Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA.
