Position Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor direct physician staff
- Demonstrate competency and professional responsibility in the Medical Assistant role
- Function as Medical Assistant and backup for physician staff as needed
- Maintain physician’s appointment templates and calendar
- Design of office staff work schedules and duty assignments.
- Assess staffing patterns and recommend changes.
- Orchestrate training/orientation of new physician staff.
- Meet with HEAT team to identify team educational and training needs.
- Meet with Clinical Practice Manager to review operational issues and discuss strategic plans.
- Be sensitive to and anticipate the scheduling needs of the physician.
- Participate in development of departmental goals and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with THC depts.
- Order practice supplies to include office and medical supplies while monitoring expenses
- Code employee time and PTO
- Assist Clinical Practice Manager in the selection, supervision and performance appraisals of physician staff
- Coordinate with Clinical Practice Manager for any hiring or employee related needs
- Preserve the confidentiality of the Clinic’s patients, employees, physicians, and other relationships
- Prioritize daily functions to produce a smooth running office and clinic environment
- Adhere to department policies and OSHA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Clinical Practice Manager
Required:
- 2 years in a medical office setting
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Higher education in relevant field
Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to work independently
- Must have computer experience
- Must have working knowledge of medical insurance
- Must have working knowledge of medical terminology/spelling
- Must have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements
- Must have current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
