Pay: $17.75 per hr $5.09 H&W

Description: Seeking reliable janitorial staff to perform both aseptic and general cleaning duties, including daily replenishment of consumable products across County buildings. A base salary increase may be considered for staff who exceed standard requirements, such as holding certifications in commercial janitorial services, MRSA bio-hazard cleanup, and operating industrial floor care equipment (e.g., walk-behind and ride-on scrubbers, hallway vacuums, carpet extractors, and waxing machines).

Responsible for keeping construction trailers or commercial buildings in a clean and orderly condition. Performs heavy cleaning duties such as (not limited to) cleaning floors, washing walls, windows, or counters, and removing rubbish. Some duties may include performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of the need for repairs, and cleaning debris from buildings.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs and/or vacuums building floors.
• Services, cleans, and supply restrooms.
• Cleans, polish or dusts furniture, walls, machines, fixtures or windows with appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Follows safety and proper procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment, preventing any damage or safety issues to personnel or property.
• Assists site lead in monitoring building security and safety by performing such tasks as ensuring doors are locked after hours.
• Notifies site lead and managers concerning the need for major repairs on cleaning equipment or building.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• All other janitorial related duties assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of six (6) months’ janitorial or maintenance experience.
• Must be able to pass preemployment background check.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read and write English fluently.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift arms over shoulders or head.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Mental Requirements:

• Ability to read and understand simple instructions relating to the field of expertise.
• Ability to properly speak and have command of the English language to properly explain or give instructions to staff.

Environmental Requirements:

• Ability to work in an environment where there may be background noise for other personnel.
