Agriculture background or farming experience required, with an eagerness to learn our processes, an aptitude for technology, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. Self-propelled spraying experience is required. Experience with John Deere equipment is a bonus. Job duties could include, but are not limited to: operation of John Deere 4060R and R4045 sprayers, handling of chemicals and fertilizers, support of in field operations through hauling seed, fertilizer and fuel, semi truck and/or grain cart operation during harvests, performance of tillage or seeding operations, general shop maintenance support, center pivot irrigation maintenance, seed cleaner operation, and grain bin clean-out activities. No livestock!
A typical workday is 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. In the busy season (planting and harvest windows) a workday is 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM (or later), Monday through Saturday; 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday. Sprayer operators will run an earlier adjusted schedule to take advantage of spraying opportunities. We are very flexible with time off in the off-season and semi-flexible in season if the work can still get done on time. Guaranteed one week off in summer after wheat/pea harvest and guaranteed time off between Christmas and New Years.
