This is a full-time, on-site role located in Baton Rouge, LA, for an Executive Chef at The Overpass Merchant under Hufft Marchand Hospitality. The Executive Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, including menu development, training and managing kitchen staff, inventory management, and maintaining preparation standards. Responsibilities also include ensuring food quality and safety, managing food costs, and collaborating with the management team to create a memorable dining experience for guests.
- Strong culinary skills, including menu development, food preparation, and plating
- Leadership skills, with experience managing and training kitchen staff
- Inventory management and ability to manage food costs effectively
- Understanding of food safety regulations and standards
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Experience in high-volume kitchens or restaurants is a plus
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
