Order Entry/Dispatcher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Order Entry/Dispatcher to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will be the central hub for processing customer orders, coordinating transportation schedules, and ensuring seamless communication between clients, drivers, and internal departments. Your proactive approach will help optimize road transportation operations, enhance customer satisfaction, and maintain compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Responsibilities

• Accurately enter customer orders into transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine, ensuring all data is complete and correct.
• Coordinate dispatching activities using vehicle dispatch software and fleet management tools to assign shipments efficiently.
• Manage multi-line phone systems to handle inbound and outbound calls with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams via phone calls, internal messaging platforms, and email to relay instructions, updates, and resolve issues promptly.
• Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations and optimize routing for timely deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations by maintaining accurate shipping & receiving documentation and adhering to safety standards.
• Support logistics operations by assisting with freight management, shipping schedules, and coordinating third-party logistics (3PL) providers as needed.
• Perform data entry tasks related to transportation planning, freight tracking, and shipment documentation with high accuracy.
• Collaborate across departments such as supply chain, transportation planning, and warehouse operations to streamline processes.
• Assist in analyzing transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.

Experience

• Proven experience in transportation planning or road transportation operations within a logistics or supply chain environment.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms like SyteLine.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—with a focus on phone call management and customer service excellence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and reporting purposes.
• Knowledge of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, vehicle dispatch software, and fleet management systems is highly desirable.
• Understanding of DOT regulations related to shipping & receiving, freight handling, and vehicle dispatching.
• Ability to analyze data effectively to support decision-making processes in logistics operations.
• Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute with high accuracy for efficient data entry tasks.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
