Essential Functions
- Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and input into computer estimating system
- Understand and monitor program scope of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines
- Schedule and attend field job walk with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel to determine constructability requirements
- Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications
- Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency
- Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages, including subcontract work, equipment rental, tools, supplies, and schedule.
- Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holders
- After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
- Experience with construction drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills
- Team player mentality
