What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Liaison & Referral Development position at Huemn?
About Huemn
Since 2016, Huemn has grown from Houston's first recovery studio into a physician-led health optimization and hyperbaric practice, serving nearly 28,000 clients across two Houston locations. We provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), peptide therapy, hormone optimization, comprehensive biomarker testing, IV therapy, and a full suite of recovery services.
We are expanding. As we complete insurance and Medicare credentialing, our hyperbaric program now serves both self-pay optimization clients and patients whose HBOT is covered for medically necessary indications. That opens a large, growing referral base across the Houston medical community — and this role exists to own it.
The Role
You are the bridge between Huemn and the Houston medical community. Your job is to build and grow a referral network of physicians and allied providers who send us their patients — across both the medical/covered side of our hyperbaric program and our self-pay optimization services. This is a relationship-driven, in-the-field role for someone who is energized by opening doors and turning provider relationships into a steady stream of referrals.
This is a part-time role with a clear path to full-time for the right performer.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain referral relationships with physicians, clinicians, and their office staff across targeted specialties.
- Plan and deliver in-services and "lunch and learns" for referring providers and their teams.
- Open new referral accounts through outside sales, networking, and provider outreach.
- Serve as the ongoing point of contact for referral partners — responsive support, materials, and follow-through that make Huemn easy to refer to.
- Track all referral activity by source in our CRM and close the loop between referred patients and their referring providers.
- Meet clearly defined activity and account-growth targets.
- Represent Huemn's services accurately, using approved materials.
Who You Are
- Healthcare field sales experience. You've succeeded in medical device, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or healthcare B2B sales with a focus on physician engagement. Wound care, hyperbaric, or covered-service referral experience is a strong plus.
- A self-starter. You run your own territory, calendar, and pipeline without being managed. You're measured by results and you prefer it that way.
- Clinically fluent — or a fast study. You can speak credibly to a physician about what we do and represent it accurately.
- Relationship-driven and organized. You build trust fast, keep clean CRM records, and track every account.
- Mobile. Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation required. Houston market knowledge is a plus. Your Referral Network
You will work two distinct referral channels:
Medical / covered-indication sources — the hyperbaric referral engine:
- Wound care centers and wound care physicians
- Podiatry (diabetic foot ulcers)

- Plastic and reconstructive surgery (compromised skin grafts and flaps)
- Hospital case managers and discharge planners
- Skilled nursing facilities and home health agencies
- Primary care (diabetic and chronic-wound gatekeepers)
Self-pay / optimization sources:
- Cosmetic and plastic surgeons, dermatology, and medical spas
- Orthopedic and sports medicine physicians
- Functional, integrative, and concierge medicine practices
- Physical therapists and chiropractors
- Athletic performance and recovery facilities
Compensation & Benefits
- Base: $28–32/hr, ~20 hrs/week, commensurate with experience
