Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site (three days a week in office) role based in New York City. The Public Relations Intern will be responsible for supporting a busy, highly-skilled public relations team executing strategic communications tasks as assigned by team members. The position is a paid position (hourly, pay begins at $18/hour depending on experience), with the opportunity to develop into a full-time, salaried role.
Specific Job Duties
- Assist with creating and managing media lists and researching potential media contacts
- Draft and send out targeted media pitches
- Conduct research for clients, including market trends and competitive analysis
- Assist with planning and executing events, including product launches and media/influencer gatherings
- Support media and influencer relations by helping to coordinate outreach and follow-ups
- Contribute to our social media efforts by sourcing influencers, monitoring engagement, and supporting overall strategy
Qualifications
- Press Releases and Public Relations skills
- Communication and Media Relations expertise
- Experience in strategic communications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Prior internship or coursework in PR, communications, or related field
- Knowledge of the food, drink, or travel industry is a plus
- Pursuing or recent graduate with a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
