Summary:
Hudsonville’s Middle School Wrestling Coach is responsible for helping oversee the wrestling team. The mission of Hudsonville Public Schools is to educate, challenge, and inspire all learners to become contributing, responsible members of a global society.
Description:
- Lead in the following areas:
- Conduct player tryouts
- Lead team practices and conditioning sessions
- Provide in-game strategy
- Coordinate travel plans for away games
- Select, instruct and coach the team through the season at practices and contests
- Maintain all records, statistics, and awards information
- Maintain ongoing communication with players, parents, and media
- Attend practices, games, and meetings punctually.
- Teach necessary skills for individual and team achievement
- Must have the following:
- Possess a great love of the sport and a high interest in helping individuals reach their highest potential
- Be a good role model for student-athletes
- Current knowledge of rules, fundamentals, teamwork and the ability to relate to and teach teenage students
- Strong commitment to building a successful program for student-athletes
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Creating a positive learning experience for all members of the team
Education and/or Experience:
- Evidence of expertise in sport
- Preferably previous coaching or history playing sport
Language Skills:
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies or staff members.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
