What are the responsibilities and job description for the Long Term Sub Occupational Therapist Assistant position at Hudsonville Public Schools?
Summary: Provides therapeutic activities under the supervision of a registered occupational therapist OT. Assists registered OT with treatment planning to meet stated IEP goals. Records attendance and documents individual therapy activities daily.
Expected timeframe to start in October.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observe students informally in the school setting
- Implements IEP goals
- Assists with program development
- Assists with ordering supplies/materials
- Maintain OT Equipment
- Keeps records of program plans
- Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents and community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative manner
- Prepare written materials (i.e., activity logs, progress notes, reports, emails, etc. ) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written references, and/or conveying information.
- Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Occupational Therapist or Director of Special Services
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates degree and registration by the State of Michigan as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Certification by National Registration Exam (COTA), registration with the State of Michigan
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written materials. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies, or staff members.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
