What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist position at Hudsonville Public School District?
Description
- Serve as a resource to school staff members to provide suggestions for improving oral communication and language processing needs
- Assist and guide child find processes and support response-to-intervention efforts, as applicable
- Conduct comprehensive special education evaluations, as part of a multidisciplinary evaluation team, and provide timely, professional written reports of findings and recommendations
- Provide appropriate individualized or small group direct services to support student speech and language needs in the school environment
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff members to provide consultative services
- Consult, train, and assist in the delivery of assistive technology when appropriate
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings to meet state required timelines
- Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- ASHA Certification (Clinical Fellows are welcome to apply)
- Current Michigan SLP Licensure
- Prior school experience, preferred
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies or staff members.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and ledgers.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
