POSITION TITLE Manufacturing Lead

REPORTS TO Manufacturing Manager

Position Summary

Hands-on leader with excellent problem-solving capabilities and outstanding interpersonal skills to support leadership within the manufacturing group. The Team Lead will be responsible for setting up, diagnosing, and maintaining process controls on all equipment in their designated area while managing tasks, safety, quality, and all-around team performance. The role of Team Lead is an outstanding transition position into supervision, engineering, or other growth opportunities!

Duties & Responsibilities

• Promote an atmosphere that is dedicated to Hudsonville Ice Cream’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Foster a positive team environment that promotes productivity and employee satisfaction.
• Oversee operations in ready to eat (RTE) environment and communicate with supervision to devise appropriate resource delegation plans.
• Communicate shift progress reports to team and/or management.
• Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot processes and problems.
• Recommend improvements and support company continuous improvements initiatives.
• Ensure procedures and process followed by all team members.
• Keep plant tour ready/instill good housekeeping in all team members.
• Responsible for promoting a safe work environment and preventing injuries through 5S.
• Continuously analyze the assigned area of responsibility for improved methods of production, tool design, communication, reporting, cost controls and layout; make recommendations to supervisor for improvements.
• Communicate goals and deadlines to team members.
• Motivates team members to accomplish shared and aligned goals.
• Take on additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
• Willing to work overtime and on Saturdays if needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum HS diploma/ GED (Preferred associates or bachelor’s in business, engineering, or finance).
• 2 years’ experience in a technical leadership environment/role.
• Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership experience.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members.
• Mental ability to periodically handle pressures related to working on projects requiring attention and detail.
• Must be able to independently resolve issues with a degree of creativity and latitude.
• The ideal candidate would also possess lean 6 sigma experience.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand at least 9 hours, walk, bend, and use both hands for repetitive grasping, and lifting.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
