Responsibilities (based on your skillset and accepted assignments):

As an independent contractor, you may choose to accept jobs involving the following cleaning services, depending on your expertise:

Residential Cleaning
Tasks may include: routine cleaning (basic maintenance) and deep cleaning of homes or apartments—dusting, vacuuming, mopping, surface sanitizing, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, and organization. Optional services may include interior window cleaning, dishwashing, or detailed appliance cleaning.

This is a general overview of common cleaning assignments. Contractors may accept or decline jobs based on their skillset and availability.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional cleaning experience is preferred.
• Equipment: As an independent contractor, you’ll be expected to supply your own tools and cleaning materials (e.g., vacuum, mop, cleaning products, etc.).
• Transportation: You should have a reliable method of travel within NYC, such as public transit or a personal vehicle, to reach assigned jobs.
• References: Professional references may be requested following a conditional offer.
• Documentation: Be prepared to complete onboarding documents (W9, direct deposit, contract) within 10 days of hire after receiving a conditional offer and before starting work.
• Insurance: Contractors will need to either already have or be willing to obtain Commercial General Liability Insurance for cleaning/maid services after receiving a conditional offer and prior to beginning work. Proof of insurance will be requested only after the offer is made.
• Communication: For scheduling and job coordination purposes, contractors should be able to communicate effectively in English and be responsive via phone or email. Access to your own smartphone is required to receive job details and updates.

Schedule Options:

• Flexible shifts between 8 AM - 6 PM.
• Work part-time, full-time, or on an as-needed basis.

In accordance with the New York City Freelance Isn’t Free Act, all contractors receive a written agreement outlining the scope of services, compensation structure, and engagement terms.
